After much feedback, and edits, the final is settled on!

Kanji now reads: Luck of Death

4 color silk screened t-shirt, I've started the process and will be aiming to have the shirts ready to go for the start of March.

no to be nit picky but the cat is usually portrayed with a stub tail (the maneki neko is based of the Japanese bobtail.) but its your art your call.

will people get an irony if the lettering translates to "words/statements" was that want you wanted? because people use Kanji inappropriately?

BTW, agreed with tigrin, the kanji is wrong. Secondly, did you use google translate? I've been reading up on Japanese for a few months now (can write in in both types)... I could probably write you out some cool stuff to put on there, and it would be correct.

I'm actaully getting my Kanji from a friend that pretty darn fluent, and has lived/worked in Japan for the last 5+ years, I got a really fun non-kanji phrase to use, but sadly the silkscreen doesn't work well with thin line work, and it wouldn't print well. D:

I love it, but... it doesn't say "words", it says "document"... and really, that's what you went with? Could have done something so much cooler.

I figured a opposite play on the usual maneki neko coin (which usually has some message for luck or fortunate) would be fitting for this sort of thing. Oh well, not my call.
